This role is full-time and offers home working flexibility.

In this role, you will be responsible for

• Driving the engineering department’s strategic vision and execution in alignment with company goals;
• Overseeing functional leads (Head of Development, Head of QA, Head of DevOps, Head of Agile, and Head of Delivery) and the engineering department of about 70 people;
• Building and scaling an engineering company that fosters innovation, collaboration, and high performance;
• Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, scalable software solutions and product’s technical excellence;
• Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between engineering, product, and other business units;
• Strengthening and developing a culture of cooperation, openness, and trust.

Your future tasks will include

• Hiring, mentoring, and managing performance across all engineering teams;
• Supporting the professional growth of a strong management team, including the Heads of Development, QA, DevOps, Agile, and Delivery;
• Leading SAFe's transformation processes;
• Defining and monitoring team performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement;
• Driving the long-term roadmap for technical architecture, infrastructure, and platform scalability;
• Providing regular updates, insights, and recommendations to the CEO and executive leadership;
• Collaborating with the VP of Product to align technical and product strategies;
• Overseeing the technical architecture and infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security;
• Overseeing the technical strategy implementation;
• Building an environment where teams collaborate effectively, share knowledge openly, and celebrate successes together.

You’re going to need this to be successful in this role

• Highly self-motivated and results-oriented team player;
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles such as CTO, Head of Engineering, VP of Engineering, or similar in a product company;
• Experience leading diverse teams of similar size (70+) and scaling the company effectively;
• Proven track record of aligning technical strategies with product and business goals;
• Deep understanding of software development processes, including frontend and backend development, software testing, and DevOps;
• Deep understanding of the principles of building a reliable architecture;
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and OOP, SOLID, and Design Patterns;
• Good understanding of cloud infrastructure and services such as AWS or Azure;
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Experience in leading remote engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment;
• Advanced level of English.

• Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework);
• Fluency in Russian.
