Technical Operations Specialist

We are a nonprofit raising policymaker awareness about AI risks, aiming to slow potentially dangerous research and accelerate technical safety. We have ambitious goals and need to move fast. Come work with us!

We're seeking an operationally-minded technical professional to strengthen our research lab's infrastructure and operations. You'll combine traditional operations management with technical capabilities to support our mission of advancing AI safety research.

What you’ll do

Technical Operations

• Design and implement automated workflows using programming (Python/JavaScript) to integrate our key systems (Linear, Metabase, Slack)
• Build and maintain data pipelines for tracking organizational metrics including burn rate, velocity, and OKRs
• Create internal tools and dashboards to improve team productivity
• Analyze operational data to identify and implement process improvements

Research Operations Support

• Manage external research collaborations and partnerships
• Coordinate logistics for research events and conference presentations
• Support documentation and knowledge management for research projects
• Assist with research grant and contract administration

Team Operations

• Ensure swift resolution of administrative requests (visas, expenses, etc.)
• Organize team events and retreats
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts
• Coordinate workspace arrangements and team logistics

What you’ll need

• Exceptional project management and organizational skills
• A track record of managing demanding concurrent projects
• Programming proficiency in Python or JavaScript
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders
• Understanding of AI safety landscape and terminology
• Experience with automation and workflow optimization
• Experience working in fast-changing environments like startups

Compensation and benefits

• Compensation: 90th percentile market rate for your country of work authorization, capped at Netherlands market rate. Note we cannot transact with banks under US sanctions, including Russian banks.
