Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers and end users to support and improve the R ecosystem
- Build, deploy, and troubleshoot R packages within a managed application environment
- Provide day-to-day support for R users as part of the enablement team
- Gather and communicate stakeholder requirements to development teams
- Deliver training sessions and create supporting documentation for users
- Support and maintain large-scale R environments and related platforms
What we expect
- Strong expertise in the R programming language and its ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with Posit tools (RStudio / Workbench, Shiny / Connect)
- Experience working with Git and platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
- Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, command line, and software compilation
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in a distributed team
- Working hours must overlap with US Pacific Time (12:00 PM – 5:00 PM PST)
Nice to have
- Background in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with software packaging tools (e.g., EasyBuild, Spack, Homebrew)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD and testing frameworks
- Experience in Pharma, Biotech, or scientific computing environments
- Exposure to Bioconductor or similar scientific software ecosystems
