Senior Backend Developer

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have legal residency within the European Union / UK or hold digital nomad status. We value diversity and welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences.

We're building the core of a modern accounting platform, EasyBiz, and we need a strong Senior Backend Engineer to help us do it.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex backend features: from reporting systems and workflow automations to the key logic that powers our product. You’ll work in a fast-moving team, supporting a junior engineer and collaborating directly with product and design. We’re looking for someone who can lead by example, write clean scalable code, and ship features that make a difference.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on technical ownership and enjoys shaping early-stage product architecture. If you're passionate about backend systems and want to build something meaningful in the fintech space, we'd love to talk.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the backend development of key features: accounting reports, workflow automation, and data processing;
  • Build and maintain scalable REST APIs using TypeScript and PostgreSQL;
  • Mentor a junior backend engineer and support their growth;
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to turn business needs into working code;
  • Ensure high-quality code through testing (e.g. Jest) and peer reviews;
  • Take responsibility for project delivery from concept to production, including CI/CD and post-launch support.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of backend development experience;
  • Expert knowledge of TypeScript and PostgreSQL (must-have);
  • Experience designing scalable systems and building clean, well-documented RESTful APIs;
  • Comfortable working autonomously and leading projects end-to-end;
  • Solid understanding of backend architecture, system design, and test-driven development;
  • Russian-speaking (a must for team communication).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Nest.js and Jest;
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka);
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions), Docker, or basic DevOps tasks;
  • Background in fintech or accounting systems.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Competitive salary based on experience;
  • Strong project and product cultures;
  • Ability to work with EU markets;
  • Minimal bureaucracy;
  • Flexible working hours;
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development in an entrepreneurial environment.
