Junior Data Scientist

As a Junior Data Scientist, you’ll work on a variety of customer-focused data projects, driving impactful insights and solutions. This is a remote position based in Spain.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Establishing and managing connections to various internal and external data sources while maintaining data accuracy, reliability, and integrity.
  • Performing statistical analyses to uncover actionable insights that inform decision-making and support key business initiatives.
  • Creating and refining statistical and machine learning models, utilizing supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to predict trends and optimize outcomes.
  • Designing intuitive and impactful dashboards to visualize data effectively for diverse stakeholders, providing actionable insights in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences in a concise, engaging, and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Traveling within Spain and across Europe to participate in workshops and meetings, fostering collaboration and aligning data initiatives with broader company goals.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree within Statistics, Maths, Data Science or similar.
  • Experience with coding in SQL and Python (Pandas, NumPy, MatPlotLib, scikit-learn etc.)
  • Applied statistics skills, such as distribution, statistical testing & analysis, regression etc.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms (eg, Encoding, Normalization, Decision Forests, Ensemble Methods, Neural Networks, etc).
  • Usable knowledge of data visualization tools, such as PowerBI, Qlik Sense, or Tableau
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts
