Head of Design

We are looking for a Head of Design who will be responsible for overseeing the design department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design solutions that align with our brand and business goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong design background, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the B2B SaaS landscape.

Responsibilities

• Design Leadership:
  • Manage a team of Product and Marketing designers (15+ team members)
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to foster professional growth of the team.
  • Set the vision and direction for the design team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and brand identity.
  • Develop and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all design projects.

• Project Management:
  • Oversee the design process from concept to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery of all design projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, marketing, and engineering to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines.
• Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of the company's overall design strategy, aligning it with business goals and market trends.
  • Conduct market research and stay up-to-date with industry trends to inform and inspire design decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and drive creative solutions to enhance the user experience and product offerings.

• Design Execution:
  • Provide direction and feedback to the design team throughout the design process, from initial concepts to final deliverables.
  • Ensure all design outputs are visually compelling, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s brand and messaging.
  • Improve and manage a design review process to maintain high standards and continuous improvement in design quality.
  • Developing and evolving design systems, including creating and maintaining design principles, organizing the role of the system designer, and coordinating collaboration with the frontend team.

Our expectations

• Proven experience (3+ years) in a Head of Design/ Design Manager/ Design Director/ Art director role
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior design role, preferably within the B2B SaaS industry.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and demonstrating expertise in UI/UX design
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing design talent.
• Proficient in various design tools.
• Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
• Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze design performance metrics and make informed decisions based on data.
• Experience using data and user research to inform design decisions and improve user experience.
