Engineering Manager (Data Platform)

We are looking for a Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team within our Data Platform.

The Data Platform is a comprehensive end-to-end solution for all company data. It collects, processes, analyzes, and presents data generated by all organizational systems and infrastructures. Key objectives of the platform include ensuring maximum data integrity and completeness, simplifying and clarifying data access for end users, and providing transparency in metric calculations.

The team focuses on integrating external data sources - both in-game and third-party - as well as implementing the data layer for stream processing. The platform’s solutions enable fast product scaling, address new business needs, and effectively respond to increasing demands for data quality and volume.

What you’ll do

• Lead and coach a high-impact Data Platform engineering team: set clear goals, remove blockers, celebrate wins.
• Own the evolution of our data as we migrate to Databricks: architecture, reliability, cost, and performance.
• Ship self-service for marketing and product teams: trusted metrics, easy data discovery, experiment support, audience/segment building, and fast access for analysts.
• Treat data as a product/asset: define ownership, SLAs, quality bars, lineage.
• Partner with Product and Marketing to unlock business outcomes: faster new game launches, smarter cross-promo across titles, better personalization, and measurable impact on retention/LTV.
• Drive technical direction: standards for batch/streaming, CI/CD for data, observability, and incident response.
• Plan and deliver the roadmap on time, keep scope realistic and impact high.
• Hire great engineers; grow people through feedback, mentoring, and clear career paths.
• Collaborate closely with our Solution Architect on platform and data architecture decisions.

What we’re looking for

• Proven leadership running an engineering team (people growth, execution, and clear priorities).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, you can translate between business goals and technical trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with Spark (Databricks will be a plus) or similar large-scale data processing tools.
• Experience leading high-level decisions for DWH/Data Lake platforms.
• A track record of building self-service analytics.
• Solid grasp of data modeling and pipelines (batch & streaming), orchestration, testing, and data observability.
• Pragmatic approach to privacy, security, and governance without slowing teams down.
• Experience with at least one major public cloud is a plus.
