FP Markets Group of Companies is a well-established multi-regulated Australian broker offering traders access to CFDs across Forex, Indices, Commodities, Stocks and Cryptocurrencies. We are growing and looking to recruit a Full-time Database Administrator (timezone UTC+6).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global company with a professional, friendly and results-driven culture. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions that support our business applications and services. This role requires strong expertise in MS SQL Server and MySQL/PostgreSQL administration, with a focus on developing efficient and scalable database systems.

This is a work from home job with possibility for relocation to Cyprus after probation period (6 months).

Responsibilities:

  • Database  Installation and Configuration:
    • Install and configure database management systems (DBMS)
    • Set up database environments for development, testing, and production
    • Collaborate with application developers to integrate database solutions with applications
  • Optimization and Performance Tuning:
    • Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
    • Analyze and optimize database performance and query execution times
    • Implement indexing strategies and optimize database schema for efficiency
    • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues
    • Perform Data partitioning and implement a data warehouse solution
  • Data Management and Security:
    • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all database systems
    • Implement data replication, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans
    • Adhere to data protection regulations and best practices
    • Manage and maintain/update database servers efficiently
    • Set replication and database version upgradation
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with other Developer/IT team members to support database-related needs
    • Provide technical support and guidance to users and developers
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Document database designs, configurations, and processes
    • Prepare reports on database performance, usage, and security
    • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database administrator , with expertise in MS SQL Server and MySQL.
  • Hands-on with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) and data migration services(DMS).
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and data modeling.
  • Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes is expected.
  • Experience in replication setup and server upgradations.
  • SSRS or similar report services understanding is expected.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in database Administration/development, with a focus on MS SQL Server and MySQL/PostgreSQL.
  • Experience in managing/ maintaining complex large database systems.
