Role Description

This is a remote contract role for a Backend Developer specializing in Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL. We are looking for a Backend Developer to help scale our backend services and APIs. You will work on integrating AI-powered features, improving performance, and building scalable backend services for a growing global platform.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with modern Python backend stacks, APIs, and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development with Python
• Tech Stack: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, AWS (SES, S3), WebSockets, GitHub
• Experience with API design and microservices architecture is highly advantageous
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

• AWS experience
• Integrating machine learning or AI services
• OAuth integrations (LinkedIn, Google)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Design and improve REST APIs and WebSocket services
• Integrate external services (AI models, payments, notifications)
• Optimize backend performance and database queries
• Work with PostgreSQL and Redis for data storage and caching
• Contribute to scalable backend architecture and microservices
• Collaborate with the product and frontend teams
